THE IBRAHIM HOUSE REENTRY PROGRAM
Towards the end of 2019, Allah (SWT) blessed us by enabling MIDC to purchase an apartment building nearby to use as housing for Muslim men leaving prison. Known as the Ibrahim House, residents will work full time, pay rent, attend daily prayers at Masjid Rahman, Volunteer and most importantly build their lives as practicing Muslims. One of only a few Muslim religious family transitional residences in the US, Ibrahim house will have a professional staff and comprehensive program of activities and study to rebuild shattered lives.
The Milwaukee Islamic Da'wa Center Ibrahim House Program
Wisconsin has been known for its mass incarceration practices as it holds the record for most men of color per capita incarcerated in the entire nation, mainly for non-violent crimes. The zipcode 53206 being where most of those convictions come from.
We work with Muslim ex-offenders by supporting their faith needs, find sustainable employment, and provide training in leadership development so that they are productive members of society. We can reduce recidivism and build our communities back up while working together.
